How Essential Oils Benefit You and Your Patients

Application Methods

Most hospitals have procedures and protocols for incorporating aromatherapy with patient care. In general the approved application method is inhalation. Essential oils may be added to a cotton ball that is placed in a medicine cup and offered to the patient for inhalation or added to a nasal inhaler. Nasal inhalers offer longer-term use and are often refillable.
