e3’s Best Carrier Oils “carry” the benefits of essential oils to you
e3 has carefully selected what we consider the best carrier oils for aromatherapy. Use them to dilute our potent essential oils to a safe and therapeutic level for maximum benefit. In most cases, we recommend diluting for three great reasons…
- Reduces the risk of skin irritation and sensitization.
- Increases effectiveness and absorption.
- Saves you money.
Read our dilution guidelines for additional information on how and when to dilute.

Carrier oils are also known as base oils, massage oils, and fixed oils. They are extracted from various types and parts of plants, including nuts, seeds, leaves, and flowers. They mainly consist of fatty acids or lipids. These fatty acids have therapeutic properties that add additional benefits to an essential oil blend.
Our oils are all-natural, without additives. Whenever possible, we use unrefined versions of the oils as they contain more natural constituents, including vitamins and other beneficial ingredients. They are considered unscented and fragrance-free, although some do have their slight, natural plant scent.
TIP: e3’s most-used carrier oil is Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO), as it remains liquid, is odorless, and prevents oxidation, thereby extending the shelf-life of our blends. But you’ll love the other ones, too!
