e3’s Be Calm Blend — Soothe Away Feelings of Overwhelm
Upset, cranky, over-tired, wound up, or overstimulated… Bottling these feelings up on the inside doesn’t seem to help — your head starts to pound, or your stomach hurts. Sometimes life just feels like a bit too much to handle (we get it!). Thankfully, the synergy of essential oils in e3’s Be Calm Blend is a light and gentle way to soothe away the sense of overwhelm and help us feel like ourselves again.
This sweet, slightly fruity blend is also a favorite of parents and teachers when they’re dealing with an overstimulated child. It reinforces a sense of calm and security for little ones so they can reset and move into a healthier space.
See below for fun ways to use this blend to help your child (or yourself!) feel more calm and centered. This blend was originally called Child Harmony, but we realized adults sometimes have oversized feelings too. 🙂

Here’s the list of essential oils in Be Calm Blend, in alphabetical order. We’ve included the therapeutic uses that are relevant to this blend:
Chamomile, Roman: Irritability, restlessness, anxiety, tension, anger, stress, impatience, shock, hyperactivity.
Dill: Anxiety, overwhelm, chaos, upset tummy.
Fennel, Sweet: Emotional weakness, fear, anxiety, upset tummy.
Lavender: Exhaustion, imbalance, irritability, restlessness, anxiety, anger, tension, stress.
Mandarin, Red: Restlessness, melancholy, anxiety.
How You Can Use e3’s Be Calm Blend to Feel Like Yourself Again
Application suggestions for adults (recommendations for children are below):
After Shower: After showering, while your skin is still wet, put 1-3 drops of essential oil blend in the palm of one of your hands and rub your hands together. Quickly and evenly spread the essential oil over your legs, arms, and torso. Avoid sensitive skin areas. For maximum skin hydration and to seal in moisture, apply cream, lotion, or body oil directly to damp skin.
Bath: Mix 4-8 drops of essential oil blend in 1 teaspoon of carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut oil. (You can also add the essential oil blend to 1/2 cup of whole milk or heavy cream.) Set aside. If you have muscle aches, add 1-2 cups Epsom or Dead sea salts. Fill the tub with warm water and immerse yourself. Add the essential oil mixture and swirl the water around you. Massage your skin and breathe in the aroma. Remain in the tub for 10-15 minutes.
Bath, Foot: Mix 1-3 drops of Be Calm Blend in 1/2 teaspoon of carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut oil. Set aside. Fill a tub (deep enough to cover your feet and ankles) with warm water. Add the essential oil mixture, stir well, and immerse your feet for 10-15 minutes. Breathe in the aroma and massage your feet.
Body Lotion: Add 6-30 drops of essential oil blend in 1 ounce of fragrance-free, natural moisturizing lotion. Apply to your skin, especially after a shower or bath.
Body Oil: Mix 6-30 drops of this synergy blend of essential oils in 1 ounce of a carrier, such as fractionated coconut oil or sweet almond oil. Apply to your skin, especially after a shower or bath.
Diffusion: Follow the diffuser manufacturer’s instructions to fill the air with a therapeutic aroma.
Easy alternatives when you don’t have a diffuser:
Place 2-4 drops of the essential oil blend on several cotton balls or tissues; place nearby or tuck into the grate of a fan or air vent in your home or car.
Inhalation: Put 1-3 drops of Be Calm Blend on a tissue and inhale the aroma through your nose. Pause and inhale again. (Avoid touching your nose with the tissue.)
Massage: Mix 6-30 drops in 1 ounce of carrier oil or fragrance-free, natural lotion.
Room Mist: Mix 30-60 drops of essential oil blend in 4 ounces of water in a mister bottle. Shake well before each use and avoid getting the mist into the eyes.
Application suggestions for children age 3 and up:
Please keep in mind that the following information is specific dilution information intended for this blend.
Massage: Mix 1-3 drops of the blend in a fragrance-free, natural lotion and gently massage the child’s back. If the tummy is upset, gently massage the abdomen in the direction/flow of the colon.
Diffusion: Use 2-5 drops of the essential oil blend and follow the diffuser manufacturer’s instructions to fill the air with a therapeutic aroma.

Bath: Mix 2-3 drops of Be Calm blend in 1/2 cup of whole milk or 1 teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil. Set aside. Fill the bathtub with warm water; add essential oil mixture; swirl the water to mix well, then help the child into the bath.
“Magic Wand”: Roll and twist a paper towel. Put 2-3 drops of the blend on the end and allow the child to wave it and breathe in the aroma.
Cloth toy: Put 1-2 drops of the essential oil blend on a favorite cloth toy.
