Quiet Strength: Finding the Courage to Stand Steady When Life Feels Uncertain
By Caryn Gehlmann, Clinical Aromatherapist
Much of my day is spent talking with you on the phone, and one of the things I treasure most is hearing your stories. I’m continually amazed by the strength, patience, and courage I see in the women and men I speak with every day.
You share about caring for aging parents, dealing with health concerns, moving through difficult relationships, making life-changing decisions, starting over, or simply trying to keep up with the many responsibilities that fill your days.
And yet, you keep finding the courage to stand steady and strong. You’re doing something incredibly brave without even realizing it. I want you to know that you are a source of inspiration to me.
Finding the Courage To Stand Steady
When we think about courage, we often picture something bold and dramatic. We imagine someone fearless, confident, and charging ahead without hesitation.
But after years of working with people, I’ve come to believe that some of the greatest courage is much quieter. Quiet courage is staying present when things feel uncertain. It’s taking a deep breath before responding. Or trusting yourself enough to make the next decision, even when you don’t know exactly what comes next. It’s setting a healthy boundary. Walking into another appointment. Beginning again after disappointment. Showing up for the people you love while also remembering to care for yourself.
This kind of strength is seldom visible from the outside. But this kind of inner steadiness is powerful, as you move forward with kindness, patience, and resilience.
When We Need Quiet Strength Most
There are moments in life when we all need a reminder that we’re stronger than we feel. We’re not looking for more motivation. What we really need most is a moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the steadiness that is already within us. That’s how you’ve inspired us to create our Quiet Strength Blend.
Introducing e3’s Quiet Strength Blend
Quiet Strength was created for the moments when you need to reconnect with yourself, rather than doing more. This fresh, grounding blend combines woods, herbs, and soft citrus notes to create an aroma that feels steady, clear, and reassuring.
Bergamot, FCF adds a bright, gently uplifting quality that helps bring lightness and balance.
Cedarwood Atlas creates a warm, grounding foundation with its comforting woody aroma.
Frankincense is treasured for its centering qualities, encouraging reflection and deep breathing.
Lavender helps create a sense of peace and ease.
Pine Needle brings the refreshing scent of a quiet walk through an evergreen forest for a feeling of clarity and renewal.
Tea Tree adds crisp, clean notes that give the blend a fresh and revitalizing character.
Together, they create an aroma that feels both grounding and uplifting, inviting you to pause, breathe, and return to your own inner strength.
Invite More Quiet Strength Into Your Day
Finding the courage doesn’t mean feeling fearless. It begins with showing up, breathing deeply, and trusting yourself to meet the next moment. Often, the simplest rituals are the most helpful.
For example, one customer shared that his wife places a tissue with Quiet Strength beside his computer before long Zoom meetings. Whenever the day starts to feel overwhelming, he reaches for it, takes a deep breath, and gives himself a moment to regroup.
Here’s another ritual we think you’ll come back to again and again:
Place one or two drops of Quiet Strength on a tissue or use a personal inhaler. Take a slow breath in through your nose for a count of four. Hold gently for a moment, then slowly exhale for a count of six. Repeat several times, allowing the aroma to bring your attention back to the present.
As you breathe, ask yourself: What do I need most in this moment? Maybe you need patience. Clarity. Courage. Compassion for yourself. Or simply permission to take one small step forward.
Choose an intention to carry with you:
- I can meet this moment with calm.
- I don’t need to have all the answers today.
- One steady step is enough.
- I trust myself to move forward.
Then continue with your day, knowing that the strength you need has been within you all along.
The aroma becomes a gentle reminder to find your quiet strength, pause before reacting, breathe before speaking, and return to yourself before moving forward. If Quiet Strength helps create even one steadying pause in your day, one deep breath, or one moment of calm, then it’s done exactly what it was created to do.
Do you have a story about how you use aromatherapy to make life more manageable and enjoyable? We’d love to hear from you.
