e3 Inhalers — Mini Travel Essential Oil Diffusers
By Caryn Gehlmann
It is much easier to bring along an e3 aromatherapy inhaler than to pack a travel essential oil diffuser. Another benefit is you keep the aroma localized, rather than intruding on other people’s air space, because not everyone appreciates the same aromas you do! They’re very compact and easy to slip into your carry-on, purse, or even your pocket.
Inhalation is often the quickest, most effective way to trigger the intended effects in your body with essential oils. Breathing in essential oils introduces the chemical components of each oil to the olfactory nerves in the nasal cavity, where each molecule reacts with specific nerve receptors, sending messages directly to the limbic system.
Using an essential oil inhaler can help with travel anxiety, car sickness, congestion and respiratory irritations, immunity support and so much more.
How can you use an essential oil inhaler as a travel essential oil diffuser?
Remove the cap and place the tip of the inhaler about a half inch or so below your nostril. It’s best not to insert into the nasal cavity!
Slowly inhale, then slowly exhale. Sometime counting to five during the inhale and the exhale can help you slow down. Remember, breathe — don’t snort!
Inhaling the aroma through slow breathes gives your body time to absorb the molecules of the essential oil so they have their desired therapeutic impact.
How do you prepare your essential oil inhaler for traveling?
First, choose the right kind of inhaler for your needs. After researching our options, we decided to stock reusable, compact, aluminum and glass inhalers.
Next, choose the essential oil or blend that you would like to use. Click here to read suggestions that we’ve found to be especially helpful when traveling. You can peruse other essential blends on our online store.
Finally, fill the inhaler with the essential oil or blend of your choice, following these steps:
1. Disassemble all inhaler parts
2. Add 10 – 20 drops of essential oil directly into the glass vial.
3. Insert wick, leaving ¼ inch sticking out (it is normal for some oil to remain unabsorbed in the bottom of the vial. The wick will slowly absorb the remaining oil over time.)
4. Reassemble the inhaler
To refill, remove the wick with tweezers and use a clean replacement wick (if you’re refilling with the same oil, you can re-use the same wick)
It’s that easy to have your own travel essential oil diffuser in your pocket, whenever you need it! We’d love to hear how you use essential oil inhalers, when you’re traveling or at any other time! Please contact us or reach out via Facebook with your feedback.
