Festive Aromas — 9 Holiday Essential Oil Blends
By Caryn Gehlmann
What’s the first thing you notice when you walk in the door of someone’s home? Often it’s the aroma that fills the air, especially if they have pie or cookies in the oven! If you want to add a festive aroma to your home, we have recipes for nine different holiday essential oil blends to share with you. They’re so scrumptious, you’re going to want to sniff them all year round!
The inspiration for this blog came to me a few weeks ago when we had a customer come into our store who wanted to make some holiday blends. We had so much fun brainstorming different ideas — what a hoot. It can be so much fun experimenting with different scents and “listening” to your nose. What memories do these different holiday smells bring up for you?
One of the easiest things to do is to add theses holiday essential oil blends to a diffuser in your room. However, if you don’t have a diffuser, there are easy alternatives. You can add the essential oils to a small bowl of salt (table salt or sea salt works). Or you can apply 2-4 drops of essential oil on several tissues or cotton balls and place them around the room or tuck into the grate of a fan or air vent in your home. (Please note, place cotton balls or tissues on a surface that will not be damaged by contact with essential oils.)
